Development of novel architectures for in vivo molecular automata

 

We use the notions of Boolean logic and digital circuits to guide construction of RNA- and protein-based in vivo molecular computing networks. To this end we have proposed an idea for an automaton that acts as a universal Boolean evaluator on endogenous signals in mammalian cells. We experimentally demonstrated the computational component of this system and are now working on its sensory module.
