Postdoc with Kevin VerstrepenA postdoctoral position is available immediately to work with Kevin Verstrepen on yeast and human genetics and genomics. The Verstrepen lab applies a combination of computational techniques and laboratory experiments to investigate the functional role of tandem repeats in various genomes. The successful candidate for this position will use the available information on tandem repeats in the S. cerevisiae and H. sapiens genomes to analyze the properties of these satellite sequences using a variety of experimental techniques. Candidates must have completed a PhD in (yeast) molecular biology or genetics. Scientists with an interest in bioinformatics or genome-wide analyses are especially encouraged to apply, but profound knowledge of bioinformatics is not essential. Ideal candidates will have experience with at least some of the following techniques: basic yeast molecular techniques (PCR, cloning, transformation, selection), phenotypic analyses, mutant characterization, BLAST, sequencing, primer design, real-time PCR. We offer competitive salary and benefits, state-of-the art facilities and an exciting, stimulating multidisciplinary environment. To apply, send a letter of intent and CV and arrange to have three letters of reference sent to Kevin Verstrepen, or at Harvard University, Bauer Laboratory, 7 Divinity Avenue, Cambridge MA 02138, USA. Harvard University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Back to Postdoc Positions
