List of Fees: Affymetrix

The training fee depends on the starting point and number of samples (see details below). You have the option to start your training session with total RNA or mRNA for labeling, or to process your RNA in your own laboratory and to start your training session with labeled cRNA. We recommend bringing 4 or fewer samples to the training session, as this is a reasonable number for beginners to handle. However, we will allow up to 6 samples for an additional fee.

In all cases GeneChips® must be provided by the researcher. Reagents may be either purchased at cost from the Bauer Core (prices listed below) or provided by the researcher. All the costs listed below reflect one round of hybridization/wash/scan per sample. The same cocktail may be hybridized to additional chips for an additional charge (contact Jennifer Couget jcouget@cgr.harvard.edu for pricing).

Training fee and reagent costs - Starting from RNA:

Cost

RNA quality check on the Agilent Bioanalyzer for up to 12 samples
(includes 1 LabChip®)

$130

Training fee for up to 4 samples (preparation of labeled target/hybridization/wash/scan)

$1050

Training fee for 5 or 6 samples (preparation of labeled target/hybridization/wash/scan)

$1250

Reagent cost (per sample) $175

Affymetrix Test Chip

$100

Affymetrix GeneChip® (Genome Chip)

Training fees and reagent costs - Starting from labeled and fragmented cRNA:

Cost

cRNA fragmentation check on the Agilent Bioanalyzer for up to 12 samples
(includes 1 LabChip®)

$130

Training fee for up to 4 samples (cocktail preparation/hybridization/wash/scan)

$525

Training fee for 5 or 6 samples (cocktail preparation/hybridization/wash/scan)

$625

Reagent cost (per sample) $100

Affymetrix Test Chip

$100

Affymetrix GeneChip® (Genome Chip)

After training, researchers may use the Affymetrix instrumentation independently to hybridize, wash and scan their labeled cRNA samples. Trained users must supply their own GeneChips®, but may purchase wash buffers and staining solutions from the Bauer Core (price listed below).

Microarray processing by trained user, starting from labeled and fragmented cRNA :

Cost

Usage fee for hyb/wash/scan (includes wash buffers and staining solutions), per array

$60

Please follow the billing instructions as we cannot provide training without your billing information.
